2. What’s your major? What year will you graduate?
Photography. I was majoring in Graphic Design. 2013 is my estimated time of graduation.
3. Why did you choose a photography class (or photography as a major), and what do you hope to learn from school in general and this class specifically?
I love how photography can influence the masses or it can just influence one person specifically.
4. What are your goals after graduation? Please list your goals in reverse order, starting five years out, then three, two, one, and six months.I have not entirely put any thoughts as to what exactly I will be doing after graduation. I'm a procrastinator at best, rarely do I plan things years ahead.
5. What artists, musicians, photographers, writers, movies, books have influenced you/your work?
To be honest I don't pay much attention what artists influence me. I just seem to be more influenced by random media. Music has much more of an impact on my creative process. Which could range from the likes of Nine Inch Nails to the sounds of Grizzly Bear. But I would have to say the setting of my home in west Texas influenced me the most. The landscape of that area never bores me.
6. Where do you get information about current national and international events?
The internet! I don't watch much tv, so the internet informs me of everything.
7. Are there any important websites that you are referencing for art/photo competitions and/or information? I hate to admit that I use flickr for referencing photographs. But no specific websites.
8. What museums and/or galleries have you been to in the past year?
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
9. Have you had any photo projects and/ or training in the past?
I took Photo I in 2008 at Tarrant County College.
10. What is the value of art for the artist?The value would have to amount the time and effort. And how close the art is to the artist.
11. What is the value of art for the audience?I'm not entirely sure
12. Is photography a vocation or an avocation?I believe both. It depends on the persons work and how they feel about it.
13. What is your passion?I honestly don't know. My default answer would be photography, but I wouldn't use passion to describe my feelings towards it.
14.What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable?Criticism. Failure. I could say what makes me uncomfortable are social situations. Really if your around me and I'm not talking, its just that I'm shy. But then again, being a shy photographer wouldn't work well, so it's something I need to get over.
15. Do you have a passport?No I don't have one.
